Governor’s Comment on Common Core

Governor McCrory’s press release today is concerning.

The governor also told the audience attending the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s Conference on Education in Chapel Hill that students should be held to the reading and mathematics standards laid out in the Common Core curriculum. However, he noted improvement is needed in their implementation.

No, Governor, North Carolina students need to be held to a higher standard than Common Core.  Content standards controlled by the people of this state and not owned by Washington trade organizations.

Citizens who are interested in this subject should contact the Governor’s Office today.

  • Governor ; please put an end to common core , there is evidence of unAmerican values exploited in the common core . Why is there a federal education system leading our precious children away from what education should be about . Learning how to conduct there lives knowing the history of our land our many brave citizens have laid the path for the citizens to have freedom . Learn how to become a productive working person as in the education of a trade conducent to the individual . Education should be about the State and school board made up of the people of the community who know the values of the community . Thanks

  • Please do NOT let Common Core continue on in our Great State of North Carolina. It is only going to ruin our children and the lard work they put in to learning. Put the task of learning back into the hands of teachers and parents who know what is best for our children.

  • Dear Governor McCrory,

Please stop Common Core in our great state and return control of education to the state, the community and to the parents. We do not want the Federal government imposing educational standards on our children!

    Thank you,

  • Dear Governor McCrory,
Parents do not want their children INDOCTRINATED in a humanist curriculum hostile to their Judeo/Christian values, but that is exactly what Common Core does. Every conceivable horror is being unearthed that exposes children to things adults do not even want to discuss. Porn in reading (The Bluest Eye). English classics being jettisoned for dry repair manual texts. Grammar, spelling, diagramming of sentences, cursive writing not taught because they are NOT on the CC tests. Social studies rarely taught, PE and field trips becoming extinct, and you wonder why children are becoming nervous wrecks with chronic tests on irrelevant junk. This is NOT about raising standards for all children. It is dropping them so no one will fail.

Our Founders knew there could be no true education without a moral culture, and no true morality without Christianity. Freedom FROM state dictated regimentation made us the innovators of the world. Once we were marvelously inventive, but no longer. Please END this fraudulent system: Common Core– while we can!

  • Gov. McCrory, find out what it teaches and how this is one more step in the “brain washing” of our children for excuses for allowing this to take over our children’s minds. No amount of “free” money is worth the sacrifice of the education of our children. Stand up and be counted in stopping the overt brain washing of the American children.
