Parent Guide To Common Core

TestingThe Parent Guide to the Common Core is a new resource launched by the Cardinal Newman Society that includes analysis of the actual Standards for Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and curricula and texts.  The Guide includes a fact sheet, answers to frequently asked questions, and articles about nationalization of education, testing, and the Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation. The Guide helps families, educators, and Church leaders better understand the concerns about the standards’ potential impact on Catholic schools AND public, charter, or private schools.  The Newman Society seeks to make parents aware of what is taking place in American education in general and in some of the schools in particular that give parents the knowledge to discuss the key issues. Parents can explore the many articles on the site, public statements from Catholic dioceses, and in-depth analysis of the surrounding issues.

  • The Diocese of Raleigh is all in with its pro-Common Core stance. But, it is the silence of the parents in these schools that is most troubling. They refuse to ask questions, push back or even challenge the Diocesan cabal. Such pitiful cowards.
